A Christmas Carol and Spiritual Transformation
All these years I’d remembered A Christmas Carol as a story about learning to be nice at Christmas. But it’s really a classic transformation story in which Scrooge comes face to face with reality by seeing the entire sweep of past, present and future all at once. And through this glimpse of what is real and important, he is able to step free of his ego – his fear, his smallness of mind – and align with his soul.
