Can A Buddhist (or liberal Christian or pagan) be considered New Age?

We all stand on common ground -- Teena, Phoenix, AZ

Although spiritual idealists can be attracted to different practices -- like Buddhism or yoga or even liberal Christianity -- I think its very important to remember that these are all different expressions of the same basic philosophy.  We all have the same understanding of reality:  that our minds, bodies and spirits are all connected, and that we are all connected and interdependent with each other, and with nature.  So while these groups do exist and operate independently, it would take no great effort to acknowledge the common ground upon which they stand, and their common goals for the future.  In fact, if they are going to achieve those goals, they will have no choice but to recognize each other, reach out to each other and support each other.  They don’t have to sacrifice their independence and uniqueness in order to be a meaningful part of a greater whole.
